Show Hidden Non-present devices in the Device Manager

Type the following command (or copy and paste) the following command in the search box –

cmd /c set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1&devmgmt.msc

Hit Enter

Click on View, Show Hidden devices.

Look for ‘Ghosted Images’ of devices (expand each area).   Any device you see that is ghosted is a device that was once installed and is no longer used.   Delete these (double check) as necessary.
