Windows 10 menu not working

Has your Windows 10 menu stopped work? Here’s what you can do.

  • Open up PowerShell as an administrator
    • You may have to navigate here if you cannot open with the menu –
    • Right click and run as Administrator
    • Next type in the following command (as one line)-
      Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage 
      -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}
    • Next open services.msc using a command prompt
    • Stop the service – Tile Data Model Server
    • Delete the following folder –
    • Restart the service
    • Reboot
      • Note: Having trouble with some of these commands?
        • To get to a command prompt, you can do one of several things including right clicking on the desktop, create a shortcut and type CMD.exe – To run as an Admin, right click the shortcut and select run as an admin.  You can do the same with PowerShell.
        • Need to reboot but can’t get to the menu?
          • Type Shudown /r at the command prompt
