Rick Robinette from What’s On My PC is one of the best technology bloggers I have never met. Through the internet, I have formed a bond with other bloggers including Rick over the years. Rick recently blogged on the “My 7 Links Challenge” and challenged me along with other bloggers to share lessons we have learned. Rick learned of the challenge at Tripbaseblog and started this rolling.
According to the Tripbaseblog, the originator of this challenge, here’s how the challenge works:
The goal of this challenge is to unite bloggers (from all sectors) in a joint endeavor to share lessons learned and create a bank of long but not forgotten blog posts that deserve to see the light of day again.
The most beautiful post.
The most popular post.
The most controversial post.
The most helpful post.
A post whose success surprised me.
A post I feel didn’t get the attention it deserved.
The post I am most proud of.
The following are my posts in each of the categories above:
The most beautiful post – I’m not known for being overly sensitive by any means but as I get older I realize that students have changed me - I didn’t change them, they changed me
The most popular post- Ironically this post was originally titled wrong and time prevented me from renaming it - Test Your Hard Drive Speed With Windows 7′s Device Manager
The most controversial post – I was so wary of posting this article, I had the Director of my institution read the article and amazingly it may have helped our IT Department and hopefully others -A precarious balance for IT
The most helpful post – Improve Vista and Windows 7 networking
A post whose success surprised me – A simple task that has had thousands of hits and has hundreds of links in forums! Two years old, the post keeps climbing. - Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP
A post I feel didn’t get the attention it deserved – With all of the criticism of Microsoft over the last year, Installing Windows 8 so we could print and run 99% of our applications on a tablet amazingly this post didn’t catch much attention at all. While Android tablets and iPads continue to grow and the end users whispering to us they really are toys that surf the web and do email and truly aren’t production devices in the enterprise, users saw Windows 8 on a tablet we had and loved it. Mobile computing makes me crazy – Sanity out of Windows 8 – a review
The post that you I am most proud of – It is the true thought of how we were so innovative in the ’60s and ’70s and how we can continue to be on top in today’s world …if we could try just a little harder. – Did we go to the moon?
The final piece of this challenge is to keep the “My 7 Links Challenge going”. Here’s several great blogs to check out.
