1,000-Core Chip Could Make PCs 20 Times Faster.

To give you some perspective, the fastest consumer processors such as Intel’s Core i7 top out at six cores. According to the Daily Mail, the 1,000-core processor processes 5 gigabytes data per second, and that’s “20 times faster than modern computers.”

  1. I know this sound like a possibility but the software is incapable of utilizing it at that level. We have trouble writing programs to utilize 2 cores let alone 1000.

    • I agree; but the advancement is going so quickly that after being in this for 20+ years, the software will eventually catch up.
