Networx is a freeware utility made by SoftPerfect.

Networx allows you to monitor all incoming and outgoing traffic on your computer.  This little utility keeps a database on the amount of traffic coming and going in your computer.  This utility is very useful in measuring how much data over a given time period and can query its own database.

With Networx you can also set an allowance or quota.  This is great for limited downloads from an ISP.

Think outside of the box.  If you have a computer you are using as a server, you can watch its traffic.  If that traffic reaches into the gigabytes, you may want to put in another network card for load balancing.  With that said, Networx is more than a download monitor, you can also use the GUI netstat to see the connections made to the computer.

The program is so powerful that you can set ‘peak’ times and adjust a schedule to ‘see’ what is happening on your network and the program is designed to synchronize with other Networx instances.

If you need to clean your computer up, use powerwash free.  Although I like Cleanup 4.5.2, CCleaner, Comodo Cleaner and a few others, PowerWash cleans up files some of the others leave behind.

Bleachbit was designed for Linux and Windows.   This program frees up your hard drive space by removing ‘junk’ files and helps to get ride of cache, cookies, internet history, logs and temporary files.  BleachBit cleans more than 70 applications.

Also see Avast! for Linux for virus protection.   After holes were found in Linux that could have been years old, it is a good idea to make sure you are protected.

Avert is a tool that uses your antivirus and portable antivirus programs.

To use this program, I recommend downloading it to a flashdrive.   Then download as many portable scanners (use the ones supported under the custom scan) as you can.  Place these in the scanners folder of this application.

When repairing a computer, use this drive to remove the viruses.  Because this application runs a thorough cleaning and then scanning of multiple antivirus utilities, the odds of removing a virus is better.
