Upgrading your hard drive’s firmware

with one comment

Upgrading a hard drive’s firmware is not for a novice and makes professional’s nervous.  Before you upgrade, you should always have a backup of your data.  So when should you upgrade?  Upgrades on firmware come through the recommendation of the manufacturer and often correct any issues and performance problems with a hard drive that may be invisible to the end user.  These firmware updates should only be ran if you have read the manufacturers recommendations, read the instructions thoroughly and verified the information and correct Firmware upgrades are being installed .
