Put Your Computer to Sleep With Sonar
SonarPM allows your computer to go to sleep when you walk away from it. Still considered in somewhat of a beta format, this program works by using your computer’s speakers. Working like a ‘bat’, the Sonar Power Manger uses ultrasonics (sound above 20kHz in frequency and which humans cannot hear) on your computer’s regular sound system. (during the calibration, my dog could certainly hear it! and I heard a slight ticking)
Does it work? Yes on my laptop and desktop. Although many laptops may not work, my HP Pavilion has speakers pointing forward and worked. Cool project.
