If you want to keep up with a blog or website, you can use this application to monitor the website or blog.

This does require Adobe Air in order to function.

Make a Shortcut on the Send To Menu

with one comment

To customize the “Send To” menu in Windows 7 when you right click on an item, you need to add a shortcut to the folder or drive you want to see on the menu to the Send To folder.  To get to this folder, click on the Windows button, type the following in the search:
%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo

(%APPDATA% is an environmental variable that should map the to the roaming folder within the current user’s profile folder. For example:  C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming)

In the SendTo folder you should see several shortcuts.  Simply add a shortcut to the desired folder or application executable to this folder.

The next time you right click on a file and go to the Send To menu, you should see your new shortcut.

See Copy As Path in Windows 7

Mickey and Randy give this tip-

In Windows Vista and Windows 7, you can get a Copy As Path option if you hold down the shift key.  This will copy the entire path of a file or folder so you can use this later in documents or while programming.

Color Calibration with Windows 7

leave a comment »

Forwarded from Randy and Mickey-

Are you a graphic artist or do you work with print media or another color-sensitive documents? You want to make sure you have the exact color you need on the screen, and since every monitor is a little different it’s always a good idea to calibrate!

Do this:

Click Start and in the search box, type “dccw.exe” without quotes. This will bring up the Color Calibration wizard. You’ll need to be prepared to use the buttons on your monitor to properly adjust stuff like brightness and contrast, but the end result in consistency in colors and shade which will benefit anyone who works with photos or other graphics.

ESET Malware Removal Tool

leave a comment »

ESET is an excellent antivirus and has excellent removal tools.   When using these tools, you should boot into Safe Mode by turning on your computer and hitting F8 and selecting Safe Mode.

This tool combined with ComboFix can remove your malware.   A personal preference of mine is to download ComboFix and to rename the tool before copying to the infected computer’s desktop.
