First USB 3.0 Hard Drive Out
Freecom has came out with USB 3.0 Hard Drive. Allowing the transfer of 4.8 Gbps vs. USB 2.0′s 480 mbps that makes transferring 5 GB of data in 28 seconds possible. Native to Vista and Windows 7, USB 3.0 expansion cards and motherboards are making their way to shelves. Link

You forgot to mention that USB 3.0 support in Linux was first before windows 7 even had a driver and that’s why ASUS pulled it’s motherboard a couple of months ago waiting for windows 7. Ubuntu Linux and any distro(flavor) of that uses the latest Linux kernel will work out of the box with usb 3.0
