    I Wonder…

    leave a comment »

Every night that I that I turn in, I wonder about my current students and hope that they have the drive and motivation to continue their studies.  They compete against some of the most talented people in the world.  Although our CIT program has the drive to put these students in government, banking, manufacturing, health and other industries, I hope that Mike, Dawn and I can give these students the talent they need to compete in the ever changing technical world.

Our curriculum is the foundation they need to be versatile and diverse enough to enter the information technology field.  Not only do we teach tech support on hardware but networking, security and various operating systems.  Students have the opportunity to achieve seven to nine certifications from various vendors.

What is the most critical industry needed for IT professionals today?

The Best Burning software has to be ImgBurn

    leave a comment »

By far one of the best burning applications available has to be ImgBurn.  With ImgBurn, you to:

  • Read – Read a disc to an image file
  • Build – Create an image file from files on your computer or network – or you can write the files directly to a disc
  • Write – Write an image file to a disc
  • Verify – Check a disc is 100% readable. Optionally, you can also have ImgBurn compare it against a given image file to ensure the actual data is correct
  • Discovery – Put your drive / media to the test! Used in combination with DVDInfoPro, you can check the quality of the burns your drive is producing
  • The above information is from the ImgBurn website.

    Extortion or Real Advice?

    with one comment

The class has repaired a ton of computers that have every version of Antivirus2009 and every name that could be given to fool the average user.  Here’s another to avoid.  In order not to get infected, turn your computer off.  Many people will tell you to go to the Task Manager and end the process of IE or Firefox.  Be safe on the internet and keep your real antivirus up-to-date.  You can still get infected if you click the website’s pop-up or links that tell you that you are infected.
