Secure Your Internet Connection

with one comment

Jonathan sent an excellent link for Hotspot Shield (AnchorFree).  This https shield encrypts your internet connection when you are traveling with your laptop or even will run your desktop for ultimate security.  Connecting to an https server, your computer will encrypt its data as it comes out and comes in.  Imagine if you are in a coffee shop or in a hotel and a few feet away is someone ‘listening’ to your network with a sniffer.  They could pick up your data and steal information.

This software will load a driver that in turn connects to a VPN (Virtual Private Network), keeping your data secure.   The drivers are a must and must be loaded.

Don’t Panic if windows warns you of a system change (some antivirus software may do the same).  This warning is because you are making adjustments to how you connect to the internet.

After the installation, your computer will open IE or Firefox and you can connect by right clicking the icon in your system tray, or connect through your browser.
