Some of the Best Students
Most people don’t realize that Technology Center students put 30 hours each week with their instructor. They constantly have hands-on projects and learn actual materials, they constantly repair computers, networks and software. (real world experience) With five to nine certifications, they are constantly interrupted and this week did without me. They acted professional, studied (played alittle) and got a little break. Two students recently went to work in this economy and hopefully as it picks up, more will be hired. With students going to work for the government, retail businesses, manufacturing and in the health care industry, our students are a great reflection on our school. I’m proud of each of them.

Social Sites and Your Future/Present Employer – Updated…
There is a good article on one of our local TV stations in regards to Social Sites and Employers.
Many of my students will come to me and tell me what they put on MySpace and some of these things may not look good in the eyes of future employers. Be Careful!
Jon a former student commented on this and I agree with what most of what he said. Being careful with what you put on a site is the responsible thing to do. And yep, if I had to work with someone who was a heavy analytical thinker it would be Jon or someone who is open to change in information technology like Jon.
Change Windows XP into Windows 7
Maybe it’s not changing Windows XP, but the visual theme is virtually the same as Windows 7. Amazingly with a the visual effects and Windows XP’s native stability and security, it is your choice to upgrade later. Cool look though. Link.

Show the Administrator Account in Vista and Windows 7
Have you ever noticed the administrator account doesn’t show up during logon with Vista or 7? Well here’s what you can do.
Go to a command prompt as the administrator.
- type cmd in the search box and then right click when it is found and select Run as Administrator
- Type Net User Administrator /active:yes
The Administrator Account should now appear as an option on the Welcome Screen. Log in at the next reboot and set a complex password. (Don’t forget it!)
or you can enable the Administrator Account by right clicking on Computer, select manage, navigate to users and uncheck the disabled box next to the Administrator.
If you want to disable it later… same command but add the switch with /active:no
See our review of Windows 8 and see how you can run 90% of your programs, virtualize other operating systems, use your network and more.

Technology Interview Questions
Here’s an excellent link for technology interview questions. Unlike many interviews, technology interviews often require a great deal of knowledge during the interview process (you still get the ‘fluffy’ questions). Now this is not by any means downing any other profession. Here’s some of the best questions I’ve seen.
