Good Comment
It’s a great feature isn’t it? I love using Aero Shake on my Vista PC.
Check out Aero Snap too. I wrote a post about it here: http://timbrazer.com/2008/11/28/do-you-have-aero-shake-and-areo-snap-for-windows-vista-xp/
How I Made Money as a Kid
Lamont, Cecil and I were talking about kids in today’s world. Kids need to work. We teach worker ethics at school and I think it needs to start with the kids.
When I was nine yep, 9 years old. Mr. Warren would come by in his pickup Friday afternoon and Saturday morning at 5:30. My dad would get in the front with Mr. Warren and I would get in the back of the truck (man was it cold in December, January and February). We would go and ‘top’ trees. My job-drag brush to the road and pick up the wood that would be used as firewood for people who needed it. By the way $2.00 per hour or $10.00 per day…(a 12 hour day was $10.00 – pick up the wood fast!)
I would also rake leaves M-Th and on Sunday throughout the neighborhood. I got my homework done and stayed in the top 15 or so in school.
My dad assigned me to mow yards for free for elderly neighbors. Free.
Jeff would haul hay for two cents a bale and Lamont would mow yards and delivered papers.
We were nine.
Applications I Can’t Live Without
by Michael Rutledge
I can’t live without a couple of my mobile apps.
Viigo is a RSS feed reader that alerts you to breaking news and new blog posts. It even stores all your fav feeds in one easy app.
MobiPocket Reader / Creator is like a poor man’s Kindle. It is free software that takes most any text document (Word, PDF, .txt) and coverts it in to an Ebook. I have full length novels, magazine articles, text books, and whitepapers stored in this app. It can work Over the Air or through a PC/USB connection. I read Pillars of the Earth using this app in a thousand short periods while I waited (at the doctors, at restaurants, shopping with the GF, bathroom breaks, etc.).
I use a Blackberry, but you can run versions of these apps on a variety of mobile/smart phone platforms.
Also, if your really into your smart phone, OperaMini is a good secondary web browser for those sites not written in WML

Be careful reading the news
Our goal is to train our students for a career. Sometimes the negative effects the news has scares employers and our students. Yesterday, while reading the news, these articles were clumped together.
US Holiday Sales Off to a Slow Start
Early data shows strong Black Friday
Black Friday Sales Up 3 percent
Holiday Sales Expected Low
Hmmm…..bad, good, great, bad Give me a break and quit forecasting! Our Wal-Mart had all lines open and 15-20 people waiting in each line with the store packed . From the lines and crowds on the news, I think this is good. Next we have to wait on Cyber Monday (the new name for internet sales that happen on the Monday following Thanksgiving.)
Keep a positive outlook. Don’t give up on school. Your education is important.

Time off During National Certifications
Our blog has become a great way to communicate. For my students, anyone contributing to the Blog can have some time off during the national certification testing period. Email me with ideas, tutorials, links or fixes.
