Tigerdirect has a 1 TB harddrive for $169.00. This link will surely disappear after the sale. With the prices dropping daily, I have always seen “something” else appear. The something else is usually a new technology that stuns users into believing they “must” have it. So what am I saying? I’m not sure-but it could be new solid state drives at a price you can’t ignore(or with increased capacity and speed), or it could be a new ‘optical’ drive system. With Movies, Music, Gaming, Desktop documents, Digital Pictures our need for storage space has gone up. Most people ignore that if they buy a 1TB drive, you need to double that for backing up your files. In the end, we will all line up like sheep and buy, buy, buy and then wham! New gadget! Twenty years of being in IT, something is coming, you can see the writing on the wall…
